Celine & Seb's Wedding

Celine & Seb married last week at The Garstang Country House Hotel. Despite some truly shocking weather all week, we actually saw a fair bit of sunshine on the day. The footy loving pair were great fun and Celine's team-mates even came in their kit for some of the photos!
I was joined for the day by Dave Sayers who had asked to come along in order to get some experience, and it was nice to have the company and a second camera for the day.
I bought the chalk board a few weeks back thinking it may be something to use on a rainy day sometime. Well there's certainly been a lot of rain lately, so it came out sooner than planned, and it sure seemed to be a big hit with the guests.
Congratulations to you both!

I Heart Faces - Sun Flare Photo Challenge!

This is my first contribution to the iheartfaces photo blog which I've only recently come across it. This weeks theme is sun flare, so here's one from the recent wedding of Catherine & Paul.

Digital Camera Photographer of the Year

The shortlist for the Digital Camera Photographer of the Year Award has just been released and I was tickled to see in the "This is Britain" category, this picture by Andrew Higgins, which features our wonderful local theatre company Inner State. It gets my vote for that alone!

The Wedding of Suzy and Dave

Suzy and Dave's wedding at the ever-lovely Ashton Memorial in Lancaster this Saturday was originally set for August, but on discovering Suzy was due to give birth on that same day (!) was moved back to November.
Some awful weather kept us indoors for most of the day, but everyone was in fine mood to celebrate, and after a fun (!) bus drive across the Trough of Bowland to the fabulous Inn at Whitewell, they did just that in a gorgeous candle-lit marquee.
Suzy looked amazing in a dress made by her mum and Dave kept amazingly calm throughout. What a great couple. Thanks for inviting me to record your day!
Here's a few shots...

A white sheet and an orange t-shirt

A few weeks back I posted some shots of my young nephews shot simply in the rear yard with a white sheet background and natural light.

Today's post is another from that series, featuring a young friend of my lads who popped by just at the right time!

The Ian McMillan Orchestra at Litfest09

I had been intending to present some daily pictures from this year's litfest events but an unexpected illness in the family instead kept me largely away. But here anyway is a snap taken during rehearsals of the Ian McMillan Orchestra event from last Saturday held at The Dukes.

New Wedding albums

I've created a few sample storybook wedding albums recently with a simple, one picture per page design to offer clients choice and as an alternative to my traditional style album.
Let's contrast and compare...

The 'Traditional' style album.
A 40 page (11" x 9") album which holds up to 40 7" x 5" prints, loosely inserted into the album and held in place by traditional non-permanent mounting corners. Prints have a thin white border on black pages, and can be removed for framing etc. Window on front to hold cover image.

The 'Storybook' style album.

A 44 page (7" x 7") professionally printed book which holds 40 images printed onto the book pages. Printed cover front and back. Suitable also as a parent album. Additional copies can be purchased directly from the printers. To preview some samples click on the boxes below.

Meet the family!

Although it doesn't seem it, it's actually 2 years since I photographed Andrew and Lesley's wedding, and recently they called me up to say they now had a one year old - Iona - and could I take some shots of the 3 of them together. Absolutely! And here's a couple of faves from last weekend's shoot. And thanks to Mrs Beanphoto for the editing on these! Girl done good!
