I've just spent some time working on actor, Ian Blower's headshots taken earlier in the year, and so it seems as good a time as any to post a reminder for any actors and actresses in the North West looking to update their headshots that I am available at very reasonable rates to do the job.

Gerry Bean (that's dad to me!)

This last weekend with no weddings on, I was able to make a trip back home to Nottingham and see my mum and dad. It was great to have a break, kick back and relax a bit.

Of course it wasn't long before I was asked to get the camera out so dad could have a new snap of himself 'at work' in his painting studio for his website.

And if you're interested, he's available for demonstrations and workshops in and around his local area. He's very good!

Litfest08 is coming!

But before it gets here, the first season of litfest events begins, and publicity is already around town. I had fun shooting the people pics that feature in the programme leaflet, and you'll get to see more of them when the litfest08 publicity hits the streets. Martin Chester has once again done a great design job.
look carefully and you may even spot a Johnny Bean figure somewhere in amongst them all!

Litfest Film/Text commission

I popped up to The Nuffield Theatre at the end of last week to snap video artist Simon Wainwright and writer Josephine Dickinson who are collaborating for Litfest on a film/text piece to be screened at the end of October across the Lancaster University campus and at the Nuffield Theatre. It sounds interesting. More info at

You wait all year for a bus and then...

Richard and Sara's recent wedding at the ever-fabulous Ashton Memorial in Lancaster's Williamson Park was a real sixties throwback affair, vintage Routemaster bus, the sharp suits (and even sharper shoes) and overall black & white theme was a great look.
Richard was previously best man at Brian and Fran's wedding in 2007, and the honour was returned this time with Brian as one of the 2 best men for Richard, and Fran, one of Sara's bridesmaids.
I was fascinated to see that the couple were also having the day filmed in old style cine film by a funky company called Reel60, which looks like it could be a lot of fun.
After the Ashton, it was all aboard the Routemaster for a trip up the M6 to the rather lovely Stanley House, near Mellor, Blackburn for the reception and more pictures.

Congratulations Richard & Sara, a fab day, you put on a great show!

New dog in town

My colleague Catherine at litfest introduced us to a new pooch on the block today, as yet unnamed, but pretty darn cute! I grabbed a couple of quick shots for posterity...
